Size

Tomocerus vulagaris AKA Quicksilver Springtails are one of the best additions to any arid or semi-arid enclosure because of their ability to quickly cleanup waste material and reproduce.

They grow quite large (not as big as Wooly Mammoth or Giant Silver Bullets) and are a gorgeous shimmery silver and super active, making them really fun to watch.

We are currently in the process of having artwork and stickers made, so currently they do not include a commemorative sticker.

Ideal Conditions: 

65-75 degrees Fahrenheit

Prefers soil substrate with a moisture gradient and lots of organic woody material to hide and climb in.


Shipping

Cold Temperature Shipping Conditions in Effect:

To ensure there are no issues, we will hold shipments when destination temperatures are below 20 degrees as daytime highs.

All living organisms orders ship with necessary heat and phase packs to ensure lively delivery.

Overnight, UPS Ground and 2-Day Air orders ship on Mondays and Tuesdays ONLY. Order cutoff is 9am EST (6am PST) on Tuesday. All orders received after this will ship the following Monday. 

Application Instructions

Application Recommendation: Simply pour them into your desired substrate and tap container.

Food Options

Use Temperate Springtail Super Food for the following species:

  1. White Springtails (Folsomia candida or Collembola)
  2. Blue Podura Springtails (Proisotoma minuta)
  3. Bylas Ant Springtails (Pseudosinella violenta)
  4. Pearlescent Springtails (Lepidocyrtus)
  5. Yellow "Albino" Springtails (Ceratophysella)
  6. Lilac Springtails (Ceratophysella)
  7. Micro-Gold Springtails (Lepidocyrtus sp.)
  8. White Albino Springtails (Ceratophysella)

Use Tropical Springtail Super Food for the following species:

  1. Red Springtails (Lobella)
  2. Florida Orange Springtails (Neanura growae)
  3. Orange Springtails (Yuukianura aphoruroides)
  4. Giant Silver Bullet Springtails (Pogonognathellus dubius)
  5. Globular Cave Springtails (Arrhopalites caecus)
  6. Quicksilver Springtails (Tomocerus vulgaris)

Storage

Cultures should be stored between 65 and 82 degrees Farenheit
